Amb. Ashok Sajjanhar honoured with ‘Ambassador for Peace' Award

We announce with happiness and satisfaction that Amb. Ashok Sajjanhar, Secretary, National Foundation for Communal Harmony was awarded the Title of ‘Ambassador for Peace’ by the Universal Peace Federation, New York, an Organisation in Consultative Status with the United Nations on 4th January, 2014 at the United Nations Office, New Delhi for his contribution and initiatives in promoting communal harmony, peaceful co-existence and mutual respect for all religions. This prestigious Title was conferred on Amb. Sajjanhar by Dr. Thomas Walsh, International President of UPF and Dr. B. P. Singh, former Governor of Sikkim.

On this occasion, Amb. Ashok Sajjanhar delivered a Talk on the Relevance and Future of Interfaith Movement and the important role that India is playing in promoting societal harmony, unity, amity and brotherhood amongst the diverse segments of our society in the country and the world. He said that for the last several millennia, all major religions and faiths of the world have flourished and blossomed in India. India is a vibrant and outstanding example showing how different faiths and beliefs can co-exist in peace, mutual respect and harmony.
